WEEK THREE
Alright, ping me one more time, I dare you. Week Three, or as it shall now be known as thanks to the near destruction entirely of the Aquamarin org in EU G/P: Something Fishy Get it? Both AMG teams getting nearly banned for smurfing? I slay myself. Game 1: Lulsquad VS Black Rose For the second week in a row, Lulsquad are in the premier game of the evening, however more roster swaps take place as ZLKP returns to the jungle, whilst the ‘power couple’ swap roles in the bot lane. Which, versus a top 3 team, somehow changes everything. Black Rose go into the game giving the super strong Alperen a super strong champion in Camille, with frankly the entirety of Lulsquad performing 10x better than we’ve previously seen from them this split. The usually reliable top side of Black Rose go a combined 2/11 K/D, ultimately leading to the victory for Lulsquad. Casted by Docda and BZSteve MVP: ZLKP on Skarner. KDA 3/3/11 Game 2: Aquademy VS Porotastic Porotastic had a solid record heading into week 3, with no streamed games under their belt though. So they had to confirm their strong contention for playoffs with a strong game here versus the middle of the pack team in Aquademy. However what followed could be considered a second upset in two games on stream in week 3, with Aquademy convincingly getting banned winning. But hey, we get to see ANOTHER OL team go 0-5 in Premier upon promotion, which is always exciting. Casted by Docda and BZSteve MVP: Jon on Olaf. KDA 8/2/9 Game 3: Salty Seadogs VS Preteens Seadogs strap up for two streamed games in a row, versus two polar opposite teams. Starting with bottom team the Preteens, Seadogs storm their way through with Maester Archmage once again proving that his control mage play more than matches his predecessor, with incredibly Anivia play alongside Impress on Braum and returning SirHench on Shen who went full KDA players having not died. Preteens are still running their changes of Serenity in the jungle and fightingpro at ADC, seemingly not going strongly as hoped. Casted by Kwee and xDriger MVP: Maester Archmage on Anivia. 7/0/10 Game 4: Salty Seadogs VS The Pirates It’s debatable whether Pirates are still an underdog story, or perhaps they’re more of an Echo Fox style ticking time bomb of a team. Regardless, after this game they remain undefeated and pave their path of destruction through the G/P premier league, with player The Admiral still fighting for that MVP nomination and victory. Seadogs walk into game 4 with some momentum (despite it being from Preteens). It feels like Pirates are the most coordinated team fighters, playing disengage and re-engage incredibly well in the mid-late game, turning dire situations on their head. It usually helps they enter these teamfights with large leads though. Casted by some tools. MVP: The Admiral on Ahri. KDA 8/1/3 MVP STANDINGS WEEK TWO Hey lads, welcome to the Kweekly (week two) and we’re back into the swing of everything, week two offered many exciting games on paper, with Seadogs returning to stream for the first time this split and teams trying to return to form, or maintain it. Oh and, Preteens have replaced AMG. We’ll get back to that though. Week two: A Return to Form Game 1: Lulsquad VS The Pirates The Pirates come out of week 1 with a 3-0 record and tidal waves of momentum after defeating opponents such as Slime Rose in nail biting streamed games, and surprisingly come into the game versus Winer 2017 finalists Lulsquad as favourites to win, with Lulsquad being on a slump since returning to the new split. Lulsquad have picked up Crabgot Only from disBANNEDed AMG to play jungle, replacing ZLKP from week 1 and despite some relatively solid tower pressure applied by Crabgot and Alperen, the forced teamfighting from both sides was in the favour of The Pirates. They would force at the right times, and precisely disengaged the pressure put on by Lulsquad. The disengage from players such as The Admiral was pivotal to the success of Pirates, leading to another win in the first game of stream. Casted by JonnyEsports and xDriger MVP: The Admiral on Ahri. KDA 12/1/11 Game 2: Einsatzbreit VS Aquademy The God Emperor of League returns, back on 1SB just like the start of Winter 2017. Tent returns with a very solid game on Zac, playing around summoners (hopefully intentionally) very well and provided very strong early pressure onto newcomers Aquademy with Pikehex similarly returning to the team with his class Kled gameplay. A solid composition drafted by Einsatzbreit consisting of numerous comfort picks however was countered by some point and click gameplay from Aquademy, bringing in the Veigar mid for Rydona v2 and JJon taking Jarvan IV in jungle, both of whom became an issue for the poor Bommerhond on Sivir. Eventually the early lead started by Einsatzbreit was countered out by the infinitely scaling Rydona v2 who whips out an INSANE teamfight PENTAKILL for himself, picking up 5 of his first kills in the game in one teamfight, with dark matter eviscerating the team of Einsatzbreit. A couple forced teamfights later spells the end for what starting as a promosing game for the veterans. Casted by JonnyEsports and xDriger MVP: Rydona v2 on Veigar. KDA: 9/0/5 (Perfect) Game 3: Salty Seadogs VS Slime Rose Casted by Kradden and Kwee
MVP: Maester Archmage on Ziggs. KDA: 11/1/7 Game 4: Preteens VS Black Rose Get merked, Merkwan Yanoob. Newbies who recently scraped into premier versus the team destined for playoff finalist contention, what an odd game to end on. Preteens enter the game at 0-2 off stream in their first week, proving perhaps not all fairy tales are meant to be. Also, the game began incredibly promisingly for Black Rose, popular opinions sees them as the team to beat within the league with their lineup on paper, however a dastardly middle lane tower dive saw Preteens ADC CYC Serenity pick up a double kill on Varus to provide evidence that maybe we won’t see the one sided sweep we anticipated. Samj1046 on Camille was performing admirably for Preteens in the mid game, shutting down Axile heavily in the mid lane but despite this glimmer of hope for the newbies though, the macro and objective game was in favour of the favourites and the 16k ending gold lead told a tale of its own for Black Rose. They unfortunately lost an off stream game to one of the ‘two dark horses of the league’ (coined by Kwee, referring to Pirates and PorotasticTM). This leaves Black Rose tied for second place with PTC at 5-1, with Pirates running the ship at 6-0. Casted by Kradden and Kwee MVP: Mammal on Darius. KDA 4/2/6 WEEK ONE
Welcome to the rebranded Kweekly roundup lads, ‘The Kweekly’. Featuring a lil logo thing. Regardless, despite my better intentions to avoid this week due to controversy, let us get right into week one of CL G/P, or as this week shall be referred to as: The Smurf Exodus. Game 1: Wards Saves Lives VS Aquamarin Gaming And to begin the week, we have two returning teams in WSL and AMG. WSL are infamous for just barely making it through to the Spring 2018 split of CL after a disappointing debut in Winter 2017, having a heavily negative W/L ratio before the introduction of ADC Sool Vundoniex who signalled a turning point, leading to avoidance of auto-relegation. However, they managed to maintain their position in premier due to teams such as Our Support Sucks and Kippas leaving the league. Whilst AMG return after a semi-finals performance against LLS in Winter 2017 where they unfortunately didn’t attend finals as competitors. However, both rosters looked largely very different heading into the new split, with the AMG roster only maintaining the player Jay Hazwoo. However despite a relatively even early game, the early pressure being applied by AMG’s Crabgot Only on Sion and Lil Yosh’s objective control lead to an objective based early-mid game for Aquamarin Gaming. Eventually it was too late for WSL to fight back as AMG take the win, snowballing through global gold. Casted by: Counterfeit and Kwee MVP: Jamez on Azir. K/D/A: 7/1/2. Game 2: The Pirates VS Slime Rose The anticipated rematch stemming from the LCQ was upon us, with legend Psycothout being benched from the blue side, replaced by veteran Arbush who started his jungling split as Rammus, a filthy tank player. This game was two things: 1. A pause fest, roughly 20 minutes were spent in a pause screen, which involved uncomfortable close ups of my face. 2. Tank fest, these teamfights were entirely decided by tanks in teamfights alongside peeling for the carries, which Pirates executed better with Pirates ADC Mario pulling off clutch in the final teamfights on Xayah. A tank build from Slime Rose mid A Petting Turtle forced ADC Tyler Nath to be the sole carry, and without a true magic damage threat, it seemed stalling teamfights with 3 hard tanks was the win condition for Pirates, who redeem themselves after their loss in LCQ. RIP Psyco & his Lee Sin, 2600 IQ, and damage per game. A special shoutout to SLI support Air, who played very well despite communication issues (the factor behind much of the pausing). Casted by: Counterfeit and Kwee. MVP: The Admiral on Azir. K/D/A: 12/2/9 Game 3: Aquamarin Gaming VS Lulsquad Winter 2017 finalists and favourites Lulsquad return to the CL EU G/P Premier league with returning players such Alperen and Weedfish but revamp the rest of their roster, almost most importantly losing the star ADC of Sosa, who chose to leave the team in order to climb solo queue (which he’s doing a pretty good job at), with new players ZLKP, I am I dont know and Alianari. AMG are returning after their win against WSL earlier on stream, most notably with the bot lane of Jay Hazwoo and Tattered picking up the Xayah Rakan lane, with early aggression from Lil Yosh on Jarvan IV. Despite a relatively low kill game, the side of AMG take a 2-0 on stream in week one, with the farming snowball of Xayah and bloodthirsty snowball of Swain proving too difficult, even for previous split MVP Alperen in the top lane, who couldn’t prove impactful enough on the Maokai. Another objective focused win for AMG, with 9 towers to 0. Also, OGWeedfish still proved he’s not a Zilean OTP, with a strong performance on Vladimir. Casted by: Kortek and MrGlime MVP: Crabgot Only on Swain. K/D/A: 6/2/5 Game 4: Black Rose VS Slime Rose Battle of the goddamn sister teams, mother fucker. (Editor note: kwee has been fined.). One of the most hype matchups to have been accidentally streamed due to the unavailable Salty Seadogs. Black Rose maintain a largely very similar roster to Winter 2017, maintaining Mammal in the top, and Cicero in jungle. Axile from AMG moves to their mid lane with Coxyy moving from Salty Seadogs to join ex-midlaner Vorzex in the bot lane. Slime Rose however, aren’t deterred as they enter with an incredible top match up of MVP Top-contenders in Mammal vs Tsuzuriko, both taking exciting picks of Darius on BRE, with Tsuzuriko on Yorick. Despite all the possibilities, Black Rose show why they’re a contender for 1st place in the regular split, with incredible team play proving dividends and they take a 3-0 week on and off stream, with a convincing win versus their newly promoted sister team. The top side of Black Rose playing especially well. Casted by: Kortek and MrGlime. MVP: The casters were divided on this one, as am I. Both these players will receive an MVP point. Mammal on Darius. K/D/A: 7/1/4 BRE Cicero on Sejuani. K/D/A: 1/1/14. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok, to explain the following its pretty simple. Every team gets casted the same amount in theory, I can’t do anything about it if this isn’t the case due to reschedules etc. Boo hoo basically. So, everyone has an equal chance to get an MVP and the same amount of chances. This is the standings, every MVP will be put here, the more MVPs, the higher you are. Any tie breaks are settled by combined KDA. MVP STANDINGS 1. BRE Cicero. 1 MVP. Total MVP KDA of 15 (1/1/14) 2. BRE Mammal. 1 MVP. Total MVP KDA of 11.0 (7/1/4) 3. PIR Admiral. 1 MVP. Total MVP KDA of 10.5. (12/2/9) 4. AMG Jamez. 1 MVP. Total MVP KDA of 9.0 (7/1/2) 5. AMG Crabgot Only. 1 MVP.
